The Attachable Access Entity Profile (AAEP or AEP for short) is a construct of the ACI fabric that joins separate entity types. It is a critical policy object with associating a given domain type and VLAN pool with interface policy that will be used within tenant space.
You will navigate to and create three (3) different AEP as a best practice to have a different AEP per domain.
To create an AEP, naviage to Attachable Access Entity Profiles:
Create an AEP for your Physical / Layer 2 Domain that will associate to your Layer 2 interfaces.
In the Create AEP popup:
You have not created the interface policy to associate this AEP yet, so you're going to skip Step 2 and just click Finish.
Create another AEP for your Layer 3 Domain that will associate to your point-to-point Layer 3 interfaces.
In the AEP Domain popup:
You have not created the interface policy to associate this AEP yet, so you're going to skip Step 2 and just click Finish.
Create your last AEP for your VMM Domain that will created in the VMM section of the lab. You will associate this AEP to your interfaces connected to your VMWare ESXi host for this lab in the next section.
In the Create AEP popup:
You have not created the interface policy to associate this AEP yet, so you're going to skip Step 2 and just click Finish.
First verify your work and then continue to the next section to create your Interface Policies for the ports assigned to you and your tenant for this lab.
