Step 1 - Add VRF to Schema Template

With your Tenant now associated to your Schema Template, lets start building out the policy that will be extended across data centers. The same concepts apply you have seen or are aware of within the APIC. Lets first create a VRF for your Tenant template:

  1. Click on Create Object
  2. Click on VRF


  3. A new window will display, allowing you to name your VRF:

  4. Name your VRF: msite_p21_vrf
  5. Click Ok

Step 2 - Add BD to Schema Template

  1. Click on Create Object
  2. Click on Bridge Domain



  3. A new window will display, allowing you to set the parameters for your BD:

  4. Name your BD: msite_p21_bd
  5. In the VRF dropdown box, select the VRF you created in the previous step: msite_p21_vrf


  6. Then, scroll down to Subnets -> Gateway IP
  7. Under Subnets -> Gateway IP, Click + Add Subnet

    In the Add Subnet popup window, you are going to add a subnet that will be stretched across the data center sites with the Bridge Domain:
  8. Gateway IP: 192.168.121.1/24
  9. Click Ok
  10. Click Ok

Step 3 - Add AP to Schema Template

  1. Click on Create Object
  2. Click on Application Profile



  3. Name your Application Profile: msite_p21_ap
  4. Click Ok

Step 4 - Add EPG to Schema Template

  1. Click on Create Object
  2. Click on EPG



  3. Select your Application Profile: msite_p21_epg
  4. Click on Add
  5. A new window will appear to configure your EPG.

  6. Name your EPG: msite_p21_epg
  7. Select your BD that you created in a previous step: msite_p21_bd
  8. Click Ok

Step 5 - Add Sites to Schema Template

Next, you need to select which sites are applicable for having this Schema Template deploy stretched policies between data centers:

  1. Click on Actions
  2. Click on Add/Remove Sites
  3. Select the checkbox beside Name to select both DC1 and DC3
  4. Click Ok

Step 6 - Save Schema

  1. Click on Save Schema
