Step 1 - Add VRF to Schema Template

With your Tenant now associated to your Schema Template, lets start building out the policy that will be extended across data centers. The same concepts apply you have seen or are aware of within the APIC. Lets first create a VRF for your Tenant template:

  1. Find the VRFs heading (you may need to scroll down) and Add VRF
  2. As before, the right side of your user interface will expand allowing you to name your VRF:

  3. Name your VRF: msite_p03_vrf
  4. Then, click Save

Step 2 - Add BD to Schema Template

Find the Bridge Domain heading (you may need to scroll down):

  1. Click Add Bridge Domain

  2. As before, the right side of your user interface will expand allowing you to name your Bridge Domain and set other configuration fields:
  3. Name your BD: msite_p03_bd
  4. In the VRF dropdown box, select the VRF you created in the previous step: msite_p03_vrf
  5. Then, scroll down to Subnets -> Gateway IP
  6. Under Subnets -> Gateway IP, Click + Add Subnet

  7. In the Add Subnet popup window, you are going to add a subnet that will be stretched across the data center sites with the Bridge Domain:
  8. Gateway IP: 192.168.103.1/24
  9. Click Save
  10. Click Save

Step 3 - Add AP and EPG to Schema Template

  1. Click on Add Application profile
  2. Name your Application Profile: msite_p03_ap

  3. The next thing that is needed within the Application Profiles is one or more EPGs. For the purposes of this lab, we'll be just creating a single EPG. To get started, locate the EPG heading:
  4. Click on + Add EPG

  5. Again, the user interface will display the EPG settings on the right:
  6. Name your EPG: msite_p03_epg
  7. Select your BD that you created in a previous step: msite_p03_bd
  8. Click Save

Step 4 - Add Sites to Schema Template

Next, you need to select which sites are applicable for having this Schema Template depoy stretched policies between data centers:

  1. Click the Actions button
  2. In the dropdown, click Site Association

  3. In the Add Sites window that pops up, select the sites used in this lab:
  4. Select the checkbox beside Name to select both DC1 and DC3
  5. Click Ok
  6. Click Save
