Introduction
ACI Datacenter

For this lab there is a requirement to install a chrome extension that allows for one-click SSH connection using the browser window. This saves the configuration of having to setup specific SSH client configurations. It is for this reason we require the usage of Google Chrome as a browser. Please click on the following extension to be added to Chrome to run the lab.

About this Lab!

When we set out to build this lab, the main driver was to show you the concepts of ACI and provide a hands-on experience. One of ACI's biggest strengths is how it simplifies the creation of networks. In this lab, we want to show you how ACI's strength can provide you the best infrastructure to move your datacenter from finger defined to object defined; accelerating how you operate in the datacenter.

This lab covers various concepts and areas of the ACI ranging from the fundamentals of how to attach workloads all the way to multiple datacenters with Multi-Site. We want you to leave with a basic understanding of the value of ACI, important concepts and maybe jump your curiosity as to how it would operate in your datacenter.

The lab from a high level has the following sections:

  • Introduction
  • ACI Basics
  • Access Policies
  • ACI VMM Integration
  • Tenants
  • Day 2 Operations
  • Endpoint Security Group
  • ACI Segmentation
  • Nexus Dashboard
  • Orchestrator
  • Insights
  • Conclusion

If you have any questions please reach out to the proctors. We are here to help and provide answers to any questions you may have. If we don't know, we will gladly find out a solution for you.

In the next section, you will examine what ACI is and exactly how an ACI fabric is connected and initialized.
